Heart disease is the globe’s biggest slayer, claiming about 17.5 million lives every year. In India, heart disease, especially cardio vascular disease is increasing day by day. The average age for cardio vascular disease is also decreased. According to WHO, if it is so happened, soon it will be epidemic in our country. Again, at least 80% of premature deaths from cardiovascular disease (CVD) could be avoided, if four main risk factors – tobacco use, unhealthy diet, physical inactivity and harmful use of alcohol are controlled. DR. PK Deb has said that at every stage of preventive check-up and treatment Echocardiography (ECG), stress ECG, Colour Doppler Tests and other various latest echo & imaging related tests and procedure are very much important and essential.
In this point of view, Cardiological Society of India (CSI) West Bengal Branch is organising the 1st “Eastern India Echo and Imaging conclave” to be held in ITC Sonar on 27th and 28th July 2019.DR. Mahesh Choudhury, Organising Secretary of the conference has said that this is an effort of West Bengal CSI to get all types of Cardiac Imaging under one umbrella to bridge the gap between different Cardiac Imaging modalities which will help in better management of the patients with cardiovascular disease. This is a two full day’s program on all types of Cardiac Imaging including Echocardiography, Cardiac CT, cardiac MRI, Nuclear imaging, IVUS, OCT and ICE.
DR. Debbrato Roy has said that this is the 1st time that Intracardiac Echocardiography (ICE) is introduced in Eastern India. Eminent international and national speakers will grace the conference. It will be attended by delegates from India as well as from SARC countries. Conference will be inaugurated by Dr Navin C Nanda who is a world famous figure and regarded as Father of Echocardiography.
DR. Kajal Ganguly has said that to counter this burning problem of Heart disease, the discussion on the knowledge of the latest art of technic of treatment & prevention to our physicians, is very much necessary. Such conference is an important step to achieve this goal.
